The Unforgettable Experience in Korea: A Credit Transfer Program

The experience we got during the Study Exchange at Daegu Catholic University (DCU), South Korea was to make ourselves more courageous and confident to chat, communicate and interact directly with Korean people using Korean directly. And also not afraid of being wrong when chatting using Korean. In addition, studying with native Korean lecturers and explaining in full Korean is a challenge and an exciting experience during study activities at DCU. Many impressions while there, namely meeting and making friends with new friends from various countries, interacting directly with Korean people, meeting good, friendly and fun lecturers and living life and mingling with the people there, and carrying out fasting worship (Ramdhan) and Eid. Fitri’s first time in a country with a non-Muslim majority population was a memorable experience while in South Korea.

We are Thariq Hafidz Nabil Al Farouqi, Aqilah Tisalsabila Suprajana, Larasati Zahrania Adinda Prasetio, Khalisha Kirana Syifa, Mita Nailyin Najah, Salsabila Aprilia Erren, Mega Juliani M, Belva Salsabila Fauzie, students of Korean Language Study Program Faculty of Languages and Literature UNAS. We took a credit transfer program in DCU, one of UNAS’s partner university in Korea, in the even semester academic year of 2021/2022.

The message that we want to convey is that we hope that the exchange program will continue and pay more attention to the students who take the program so that it is easier to take care of everything while in South Korea, with full support from the Head of Study Program of Korean Language during the processing of documents. We also experience the very complete facilities at DCU campus, some of them are the facilities for sports such as the football stadium, basketball, volleyball and  badminton. As well the facilities for Muslims to pray.

There have been a lot of experiences while in Korea, such as we should be able to take the time to learn and also play. We also visited many places such as to Pohang, Busan, Andong, Gyeongju, Daegu Downtown and others. We also tried a lot of Korean food firsthand. And the experience while in South Korea is exciting and fun. Lots of great places to visit and also South Korea is a safe country. In addition, South Korea provides easy-to-reach transportation and accommodation, such as the availability of Kakao Maps, which makes traveling easier because it provides details of what transportation to take when you want to go somewhere.

Excellent public services made us comfortable there. Nearby tourist attractions make it easier for us to reach them. Even though we are traveling alone while in Korea, we don’t have to be afraid of getting lost or getting lost because of the availability of Kakao Maps which can be a travel companion while in South Korea. Many shopping places that are cheap and easy to reach make traveling more fun, and there are many offers of good tourist attractions. If we can explore places in Korea further we can find hidden gems in Korea. And there is a music festival at daegu catholic university that we can attend for free, with guest stars such as Justhis, Kid Milli, Hyuna & E’Dawn. This is an unforgettable experience.

대구 가톨릭대학교에서 열린 스터디 교류에서 우리가 얻은 경험은 한국어를 직접 사용하여 한국 사람들과 직접 대화하고 소통하고 교류할 수 있는 우리 자신을 더 용기 있고 자신 있게 만드는 것이었습니다. 그리고 한국어로 채팅할 때 틀릴까 봐 두려워하지 마세요. 또한 대구가톨릭대학교에서 한국어 원어민 강사와 함께 공부하고 완전한 한국어로 설명하는 것은 도이자 신나는 경험입니다. 그곳에서 다양한 나라의 새로운 친구들을 만나 친구를 사귀고, 한국 사람들과 직접 교류하고, 착하고 친근하고 재미있는 강사들과 생활하며 현지인들과 어울리고, 금식예배(람단)와 이드(Eid)를 수행하는 등 많은 감동들이 있습니다. Fitri가 처음으로 비무슬림 인구를 가진 나라에서 한국에 있는 동안 기억에 남는 경험이었습니다.

우리가 전하고 싶은 메시지는 교환학생 프로그램이 지속되기를 바라고, 한국에 있는 동안 모든 것을 보다 쉽게 처리할 수 있도록 프로그램을 운영하는 학생들에게 더 많은 관심을 기울이기를 바라며, 서류나 기타 필요한 서류를 처리하는 동안 프로그램 관리자의 전폭적인 지원을 받고 있습니다. 공부, 대구 천주교에서 우리가 생각하는 흥미로운 것은 매우 완벽한 시설들이 대학 안에 있고, 경기장, 농구장, 배구장, 배드민턴이 모두 있습니다. 또한 이슬람교도들을 위한 예배 장소도 있습니다.

한국에 있는 동안 많은 경험들이 있었습니다. 마치 우리가 시간을 내서 배우고 놀 수 있어야 하는 것처럼요. 우리는 또한 포항, 부산, 안동, 경주, 대구 시내 등 많은 곳을 방문했습니다. 우리는 또한 많은 한국 음식을 직접 먹어 보았습니다. 그리고 한국에 있는 동안의 경험은 흥미진진하고 재미있습니다. 방문하기에 좋은 장소들이 많고, 또한 한국은 안전한 나라입니다. 또한, 한국은 카카오 맵의 이용 가능성과 같이 접근이 용이한 교통 수단과 숙박 시설을 제공하는데, 이것은 여러분이 어디론가 가고 싶을 때 어떤 교통 수단을 이용해야 하는지에 대한 세부 정보를 제공하기 때문에 여행이 더 쉬워집니다.

훌륭한 공공 서비스가 우리를 그곳에서 편안하게 만들었습니다. 가까운 관광지는 우리가 그곳에 더 쉽게 갈 수 있게 해줍니다. 한국에 있는 동안 우리가 혼자 여행한다고 해도, 한국에 있는 동안 여행 동반자가 될 수 있는 카카오 맵이 있기 때문에 길을 잃거나 길을 잃는 것을 두려워하지 않아도 됩니다. 저렴하고 쉽게 갈 수 있는 많은 쇼핑 장소들이 여행을 더 재미있게 만들고, 좋은 관광지를 제안합니다. 만약 우리가 한국의 장소들을 더 탐험할 수 있다면, 우리는 한국의 숨겨진 보석을 찾을 수 있습니다. 그리고 대구가톨릭대학교에서 Justis, Kid Milli, Hyuna & E’Dawn 등의 게스트 스타들과 함께 무료로 참석할 수 있는 음악축제가 있습니다. 이것은 잊을 수 없는 경험입니다.
