Universitas Nasional was appointed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Embassy, and Instituto Italiano di Cultura Jakarta to conduct the Upgrading Course for Italian Language Teachers in Indonesia. UNAS hosted the event previously in 2007 and 2008.
The trainer Prof. Lidya Costamagna is a linguistic professor in the Faculty of Language and Culture and the Vice-Rector for International Relations in University per Stranieri di Perugia. The 5-day training program was attended by participants from UNAS, UI, UNJ, BINUS, IIC, Uni-Italia, and Universitu Degli Studi di Napoli �L�Orientale.
After meeting the Rector of UNAS, Dr. El Amry Bermawi Putera, the training was opened by the Italian Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Vittorio Sandalli. Also present on the opening were the Director of IIC, Dr. Michela Linda Magri, and the Italian language instructor, Mrs. Antonella Rinaldi.
The successful training was followed by the strengthening of cooperation with the renewing an MoU between UNAS and University of Perugia which began in 2005 when the university sent its faculties to conduct the training in UNAS.
