UNAS hosts Darmasiswa students every year. For the 2013/2014 academic year, UNAS accepted 20 foreign students, 3 students from Papua New Guinea (Jude Onoro Sorowe, Jacob Yowel and Junior Api), 3 students from Laos (Souksamai Thoumboulom, Juexiong Jongya and Souksakhone Simmalavong), 5 students from South Korea (Kim Da Rae, Yoon Bich Na, Kim Chan Mi, Ko Ye Eun and Park Seung Yoong), 2 students from Japan (Mayoko Iwamoto, Ai Fukumoto), 1 students from Azerbaijan (Gazanfar Kazimov), 1 student from Uzbekistan (Kadirova Saida), 1 student from Greece (Eleni Chaireti), 1 student from Ukraine (Inna Kravets), 2 students from Italy (Roberta Salzano and Giuseppe Ferraioli) and 1 student from Zimbabwe (Mafukidze Tashinga Natasha). UNAS coordinator of the program is Drs. Iwan Siswadi Jaya, M.Si.
Darmasiswa is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Bahasa Indonesia, arts, music and crafts. Participants can choose one of 45 different universities located in different cities in Indonesia. This program is organized by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
